Dr. Christine Ly provides exceptional eye care with a focus on preventive medicine and patient well-being. Growing up in Etobicoke, she pursued her undergraduate studies in Honours Chemical Biology at McMaster University before earning her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo.
With 8 years of clinical experience, Dr. Ly has spent the last 6 years serving the Etobicoke South community, where she has built lasting relationships with her patients. Her passion for optometry stems from a personal experience—when early diagnosis in a family member’s primary eye care visit prevented blindness and systemic deterioration. This life-changing event has inspired her commitment to proactive, patient-centred care.
Dr. Ly’s clinical expertise includes primary eye care, geriatric eye care, and disease management. Her extensive experience includes providing eye care to veterans during her ocular disease rotation at the Lexington Veterans Medical Affairs clinic in Kentucky, as well as a disease-focused rotation in rural Fort Frances, Ontario. She is passionate about helping patients maintain healthy vision through early detection and tailored treatment plans.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Ly enjoys spending quality time with her family and is eagerly looking forward to welcoming a newborn this year. In her free time, she pursues hobbies such as woodworking, home renovations, and scrapbooking creative outlets that complement her detail-oriented approach to eye care.
Dr. Ly is proud to be part of the Specs and Spines Optometry team and looks forward to continuing to serve the community with compassionate, personalized eye care.
