Comprehensive Eye Exams in Etobicoke
An eye exam is about more than just updating your prescription. Your eye exam is a comprehensive look at your eye health, giving Dr. Koh the opportunity to check potential issues such as eye disease that could affect your long-term vision.
At Specs & Spines Optometry, we truly believe in building a relationship of trust with our patients. Consistent eye exams are an excellent way for us to not only check for issues but also stay up-to-date with your visual health.
Dr. Koh is excited to welcome you and your family to Specs & Spines Optometry. Contact us to schedule your appointment today.
Book AppointmentKnow Your OHIP Coverage
As a result of negotiations between the Ontario Association of Optometrists and the Ontario Government finalized in early 2023, changes are occurring to OHIP eye care services and eligible coverage.
The eligibility for OHIP coverage for eye care will be determined on the exam date and is limited to acute and/or progressive eye conditions. Our clinic is focused on providing quick and timely access to care with diagnostic testing for diagnosis and prevention.
Book AppointmentWhat to Expect During Your Adult Eye Exam
Your adult comprehensive eye examination (ages 20–64) will include:
- An updated prescription for your eyeglasses
- Retinal photography
- A personalized treatment plan with recommendations for eyewear and eye health
- An option for a 3D optical coherence tomography (OCT) retinal scan for early detection of macular degeneration and glaucoma
Additional fees may apply for your OCT retinal scan. Dr. Koh can discuss your options with you.
What to Expect During Your Senior Eye Exam
Your senior comprehensive eye examination (65+) will include:
- An updated eyeglasses prescription
- Retinal photography
- A 3D optical coherence tomography (OCT) retinal scan for early eye disease detection
- Visual field testing to monitor changes or issues in your vision
Due to changes in OHIP eye care on September 1, eligibility for patients 65 and up is changing to cover only acute and progressive eye conditions.
We encourage all our senior patients to visit yearly and recommend advanced 3D retinal OCT imaging not covered under OHIP to diagnose and detect eye diseases early, such as cataracts, glaucoma, and macular and retinal disease.
